none, they're losing contracts with a lot of channels. out here. we're about to lose the locals on directv. i've heard dish already lost some.

redbox would really be smart to throw some rentals our way.

If you got wifi in the truck, might consider netflex. It's only $8 month and no contract. No news though.

I've used both Dish Network and currently Directv in the truck both with a manual dish and my current Motosat unit. You will get all of the channels offered by Directv off of one satellite but if you want to get the same from Dish Network you have to be aimed at 2 satellites at once which really raises the degree of difficulty and time needed to aim each time you use it. With Directv you can fill out a form certifying that you are a truck driver and be allowed to watch network tv channels based in either Los Angeles or New York depending on which end of the country you live in. The Directv receiver in the truck has to be on it's own account and can't have any sports packages such as NHL Center Ice or NFL Sunday Ticket as they lose control of blackouts in this scenario. Dish Network does not have a similar program for truck drivers.
Since I have NHL Center Ice and do not want to pay the big $$$ for a separate truck account I just pay for an extra receiver on my home account and use a digital antenna for network channels unless I am in the south east where my dish will pick them up.

Also, don't waste your money on a high definition receiver for the truck as they require a larger dish and are harder to aim. Directv has a new internet service available now similar to Netflix which allows you to watch certain shows and movies online once you have an account through their website. You can also do this on HBOGO.com, TBS, TNT and others by logging in with your Directv account sign on information.

some how i don't think your gonna want to be paying an extra dollal for each day it takes you during that trip.

unless your too lazy to return it to the box before leaving for your trip.

sure you can drop it off at any location.

but do you want to pay that $1 per day fee while going from CA to NY?
