I guess it really is about luck. My most recent co-driver lived in Ca. and would always keep it at 62-65 and didn't get pulled over for speeding once in the 3 yrs. we rolled together. The one before that got a ticket bout 25 miles west of the state line (heading to Az.), he was bobtail and had the cruise on 59. I don't usually go over 59 myself, but I've had CHP get on the CB as he was passing me at 0300 and tell me to back it down when I was doing 62, and once, at 59 mph,had one slow as he got next to me and flash the light bar, then keep going. Ya never know with those Ca. bears..
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Crap welcome to NJ nd PA our troopers fly by when they see us going 65 or up when the speed limit is 55mph, i have done it and they pass me and i have seen fedex and ups going 71 or up they just fly by us because they don't bother truckers like the chp

try that in ohio or indiana and let me know what they do to you lols

Last time I checked the Ohio and Indiana speed limits for trucks was 70 and 65 respectively.
-
i was talking about a 55mph zone

We are discussing a rural split speed interstate, not a 2 lane secondary road or urban freeway.
CHP is more likely to give more leeway on a 70/55 section of interstate than a 55 mph section of Ohio two lane.Last edited: Jun 15, 2014
