water temp vs oil temp

    I agree Dryver but it pushes it out over flow and I can see it in the belly pan. its never like a gallon blown out on a single trip. Like today I drove over 500 miles and not a drop blown out and its at the same level. I do think head gasket but I am going to see what the next oil sample says just to make sure. Volvo didn't want to dig around at it. I'm going to keep a close eye on it til spring and maybe get the head pulled if nothing changes. I may replace the thermostat just to make sure its not hanging up every once in awhile. I'm going to try the small stuff before I have to pay for the big stuff.

    oil temps should be within 30-40F of coolant temps.

    At 210F, I wouldn't worry, you actually want oil to be hotter than 212F to keep moisture from forming and causing sludging.....you need to have hot enough oil to boil off any water.
