I not like to go in the freightlinershop, what is better a catshop or go in a Peterbild or KW shop, what you think
Road Killer Thanks this. -
I wouldn't go too far. If the pump is leaking, the seal is out. If the seal is out the bearings could be near failure. It will cost a lot more to be towed in when it breaks down on the highway. I wouldn't take it to a dealer of any kind if I could find another option.

Well, for the experience the techs at a Cat dealer will know the engine the best I would say Cat should have the best time at changing it. Going to Pete or KW you run the chance of getting a tech that maybe has never changed a w/p on a C13 before, or it has been 2 years or what ever and may take longer costing you more $$$.

I would try to find a Truck Pro, or Fleet Pride and buy a water pump then find a Lowes and get 3 five gallon buckets, drain the anti-freeze and change the water pump and add the anti-freeeze back. I love Cat engines but I hate their dealerships, if they get any of my money they'll have to break in my house and steal it.

You do realize that Cats have been in KWs for 20 years or more. If any dude off the street can replace a Cat waterpump I think any tech working for a Cat dealer(ie Pete, KW dealer) would be more than capable, and more capable because he is also intimatly knowledgeable about the truck and its systems! Cat guys only know engines, they dont know trucks!sixpackbill Thanks this.

When I said Cat dealers I did not mean their authorized dealers, I meant the Cat houses, and yes Cats have been in Pete's and KW's for closer to forty years.

my truck is now in the catshop in baltimore to change the waterpump i hope tomorrow my truck is ready to make money

Woow, woow! Slow down! I see you are a major KW guy and completely in love with your brand, didn't mean to trample your little heart! I didn't know your dealer network had nothing but the best techs with all the experience in the world! I didn't know you had to be a truck expert at KW to change a waterpump on a Cat C-13 engine. Sorry, please forgive me!!!! If I need something fixed, I coming to see you guys!!!!

The waterpump was ok,only a hose behind the waterpump was leaking,
