Wishful thinking. No van driver running out west that i have talked to gets close to that. Running flats lower 48 maybe. Teams get priority at W/S then the O/Os then lastly solos.

I'll be East and getting into a flat as soon as my 90 is up.
So what is it then, OTR or regional?
(500 mi/150 bux difference will be enough to get me home every week and run a regional)
Is there a mid-west regional/Texas terminal? Can I average 2500 solo in a flat?
Thanks in advance... -
go read stuff on Crete Carrier Corp, CFI, and Roehl.

I don't see why you couldn't. But, then again...I don't do the dispatching. But truthfully, you are going to be VERY hard pressed to find any company that gives a company driver 3K+ a week now days. A few still do...very few.
When I run out long...which I occasionally do. I get really close to 3000 miles. My last long out...was 2995 miles. I've spoken with several of our regional drivers that average about 3000 a week (they say).... But many of these guys mistakenly chase miles. You can't chase miles at this company and make as much as a regional driver who is willing to "work" for the extra bucks. You get paid for your hard work....driving is the easy part.
This week I have less 1500 miles.... But that 1500 miles with my stop pay will be ..at the moment.. $835 if they bring me straight to the yard thursday afternoon.
The bottom line is....How hard are you willing to work? I drove 325 miles Monday evening. I drove 375 miles yesterday (tuesday)..and put off 8 stops in 9 hours. I drove 398 today (wednesday), and managed 5 stops in 10 hours. 4 of those were pick ups...where I had to wait for a bit. I dropped in the yard...got another trailer. I am under another load...and I'm staying the night at home and will deliver in the AM in Alabama.
Hustle is the name of the game. How much do you want to make? Anybody can drive 700 miles in a day......... -
I don't mind a good honest hustle, but my initial point was, if I'm going to go OTR for 30 days it better be worth my stay. If it will only be a 500mi. difference every week, it's not worth it to me. I'd rather go home on the weekends, relax and have a couple beers.

Exactly

I live in Michigan and have applied with them...haven't heard back yet...but, do they have training near here?
-
I'm not sure. The only place(s) I am aware of (for training), are Missoula, MT and Hickory, NC. There may be others but I am not aware of them.
If it's been more than a week since you applied, give them a call and check the status of your app. -
thanks, ya, I plan to! Actually, I have the recruiters' email address, I am going to shoot her an email!
-
Yes well thats what I want to do. If i wanted to run 300 miles and make 50 stops I would drive a UPS van (and make more money than most any OTR driver).
