Well, Day 16 (last week of training!!) was spent mostly at the DMV, awaiting out turn to dazzle the examiner with our backing prowess....yeah, right!! Anyways, 6 of us did the skills tests, and 6 of us passed with flying colors!! I messed up a little on my alley docking, had to do 2 pull ups, but still passed, and my instructor says it still looks like a perfect test on my license....LOL

After we returned, we did not have enough time left to get on the road, so we worked on alley docking with a different truck and trailer than what we were used to, to simulate different equipment we may have to work with. I was aceing the dock there, why not at DMV?

Anyways, my time is almost up at United Truck School, we have a day tomorrow of road work, and then back to DMV on Wednesday for the road test...

Lynch, good to hear from you! It's been way too long... I'll send you that PM while I"m in Mudzoola....I already got a call from Roxy today to touch base with me, but I was in class so I'll have to get ahold of her tomorrow.

Well, this was Day 17...spent all day driving around, tight corners, parking on hills, freeway driving etc....the instructor took me on some very tight corners and he said if we could handle those we would have no problems passing the road test tomorrow. I was the only one in the truck who did not do something that would have caused an automatic fail, which made me happy....I'm taking my road test tomorrow so wish me luck and say a prayer for me....

Also talked with Roxy today and she said I'm all set for the orientation, just waiting for my school transcripts.

Well, for all who are interested....I am now the proud owner of a shiny, new CDL!! The road test was pretty easy. We had a great examiner, he kept us all relaxed and just chatted with us while we were driving and it made it easy and the time went by pretty quickly. Roxy told me today that I should be good to go for Feb 24!!

Now back for 2 more days to get my last 16 hours for total of 160. I would think we are gonna spend our time driving around, and doing some coupling/uncoupling.

thanks everybody for the well wishes and words of encouragement. It means the world to me!

Way to go Warp!, I just finished my orientation at May in OR. I went with them cause it was a better fit for me and my family. Good Luck and I hope to see you and Souhbaydad out on the open road. I will be driving the 11 western in a 387 Pete.
