Watkins-Shepard Acquired by Schneider

I drove for WS for 1.5 years, I've now been with Schneider for 2 years.. I started as a western solo driver then did teams for 7 months, I'm now on the owner-op side.. My personal experience here has been mostly positive, I've had bad days but they have been mostly good.. I'm definitely a lot happier @ Schneider than I was with Watkins, and I really liked driving for Watkins...

 

Wonder what they will do with the flatbed side, sell it to Maverick

 

Listened to a 30 min conference call and the things that might change for us W/S drivers is the pet policy, Bluetooth/hands free and the 401k is changing.

We're expanding (300) more trucks and taking on more e-commerce (Amazon, Overstock, etc). Also a new terminal in Dallas and Miami (soon). They said it's basically a partnership with Schdeider dedicated, Watkins and Lodeso.

Watkins won't be going anywhere.

The main concern is this. Will there be any layoffs as far as any of the Watkins-Shepard employees are concerned?
