This is what they always tell the target company ... the key objective here is to keep the target work force placated and in place during the transition and intergration.

My thought is the Ray got a sweet retirement deal out of this and could careless about the end result for any of us.
I would rather not drive than be subject to a mega like pumpkin.
I wish the Watkins drivers the best. May God bless you all.BackIsSore Thanks this. -
Old Cheap Ray thought about himself in this one. Abandon ship while you can guys, Schneider is nothing that Watkins was.
When things are completely merged I don't see Schneider drivers wanting to do 11 stops of furniture at their low end wages. -

I'm worried to say the least. In the phone conference the Schneider reps kept saying you can email human resources at Schneider with questions, that is a red flag to me, if I work for Watkins shouldn't my HR be Watkins? Schneider saying they are going to look at various policies down the road is just like my dad's company. When they were bought by a large nationwide company, within a year they tried to change their policies over. The only difference was my dad was in the Teamsters union so it was a little harder than the large company thought. The main issue with his takeover as with this, Watkins Shepard knows their employees, talks to and helps them where Schneider is not going to notice me walking past their office, call me by name and ask me how everything is going. They are not going to be able to give me the personal friendships WS can. I also team and am given assignments, get them done without harassment of why my truck stopped, I always have work and am compensated well that is why I like Watkins, did not apply to Schneider and don't want it to change.

Both acquisitions complement the growing Final Mile+™ service from Schneider, which provides customized home, commercial and retail delivery with white-glove service. Schneider is now the nation’s leading first-to-final-mile-delivery provider of LTL, truckload and logistics for high-value home furnishings and over-dimensional goods.

As long as they don't mess with my dispatchers that let me run loads I like to run, my money and me being home every weekend I doesn't bother me what they do. I sure hope they don't mess with the trucks but I got a feeling it's gonna happen. The way they were talking in the conference call was Watkins would still operate like it had been, with Schneider technology. They didn't say anything about Watkins drivers hauling Schneider loads and Schneider hauling Watkins loads. So I don't know how that will work out.
Hope it all works out for the best. I like it here at Watkins and have been treated really well. Hope it can stay that way. -
If any of you are out of Conover and worried. Zenith is hiring.

Heck we are hauling a lot of zeniths freight anyway. They should pick a Watkins driver right up lol
