I sometimes have to use my entire body weight to tighten down straps, so I know where you're coming from, AT.

I don't think we'll be giving you our step deck unless we have to. :biggrin_25525:

We're sitting at a Loves in Hudson, CO, waiting to drop tomorrow at 9am. We have a bunch of concrete/fiberglass containers and our tractor is behaving oddly... the jake brake isn't working so well (not what you want to find out in Colorado) and the engine is sluggish.

Hopefully we'll get a hard run from here and then shoptime in Missoula... or the other way around.

Are you guys out of the shop yet? Tell Joe that I have an empty van trailer waiting for him where I'm parked, but he will need to bring an empty skateboard in order to complete the exchange.

Or I could just wait until my new hire probation is over, and inquire about going over to the dark side instead! :biggrin_25514:

We're still in the shop. Took our trailer over to the dealer (I-State) yesterday and they put us up at the Econolodge. Today it sounds like they were trying to get a loaner truck just to get us some local miles, but so far nothing.

Considering how hard they were working for us before the shop stuff happened, I have nothing but good to say about the flatbed dispatchers. I just hope the truck gets fixed soon.

Quentin, you can't have our skateboard... at least, not yet. :biggrin_25522:

All of the folks on the dry van side are equally excellent, and are very nice folks to work with. :biggrin_25520: (What if this was all a dream, and when I wake up I have found out that I really didn't quit my last company.....instant nightmare! :biggrin_2559:/and also/pssst.....you misspelled my name....now you really owe me that flatbed with NO exchange! :biggrin_25522:)

I hope that your truck gets repaired too, you slacker! :biggrin_25522: There are loads with your name written all over them just waiting to get picked up and delivered (safe, legal, on time, yada yada yada)! :biggrin_2559: So hop to it and get to worky! :biggrin_25525:

Today was fun. No. Not really.

We slept on the couches last night, rather than get stuck over at the hotel. We were up fairly early with the orientation students, had breakfast, and got a loaner truck (1909). We hooked up our trailer, went over to I-State to get bungees and gloves, and the fun started.

First, I cannot drive a Volvo. It's like the I-Pod of trucks. Everything is big symbols, loose gears, and such. Joe said he'd do the driving, even though it was my driving time. Since he occasionally had problems with it, I'm glad he offererd.

Second, I-State did not keep our truck battery charged (even though we mentioned it) and our refrigerator got warm and food was ruined. When we brought it up to the manager, he apologized but basically said it was our fault.

We loaded up in Kalispell and came straight back. Shower, dinner, quick load of laundry and let Joe get a nap so he can drive until 10, then we'll go back to our normal tomorrow when I start my shift at 2 am.

I'm totally good with W/S. They are taking good care of us. But I-State is getting some nasty mail from me. Might not do any good, but it can't hurt.

Scotsman, you're busted for not hanging around to say goodbye. :biggrin_25525:

Just saying you can totally take him....but since he's the Conway Spokes guy you may get fired for beating him down is all im saying:biggrin_2558:

Con-Way actually gives every driver a handful of cards to pass out. I told the guys in my class to write their company number on the back for the reference lol.
