the original poster needs to clarify the problems........i'm thinking a newbie that was expecting more than what he was told, or he did something wrong, and got nailed for it........

Of 64 DOT reportable accidents in the past 24 months. Only half were W&S driver "at fault", the others were squarely on the shoulders of the other driver.

That information was gathered from this months issue of "The Trucker".

Not bad numbers for "not trained good enough" students IMHO.

Taking a closer look at the numbers on their SafeStat.

Of 3003 inspections, only 120 drivers were placed OOS. About 4%.

It's easy for the new guy to get hit on his logs, as he tries to get into full compliance while learning. One would expect those numbers to remain about the same, with the current turn over.

 

Yeah, that is a pretty good record. Better than JCT and they are all experienced owner ops only. I think two years is there minimum requirement for experience.

We used to require 2 years, I think it's been cut back to 18 months.

We've had waaaaay too many roll overs involving paper roll stock in the past 6 months.

W&S used to haul a lot of roll stock too. With fewer accidents.

Makes you wonder, doesn't it.

 

What is the W&S pay scale? What is it like for the first year and then for the second? It was mentioned that they like to run the NW, but do they run the NE on a constant basis?

 

They have a terminal right down the road from you. So yes.... S2B could give you a more recent look at NE runs.
