..i agree with what most have said positive about W/S here, the original poster made a negative comment on one person at a terminal, that isn't enough to condemn the whole company in my opinion.. also the pay may be less than other companies starting out but W/S runs multiple stops u-unload pay scale which probably factors in the lower per mile pay rate newb drivers start out at.. the numerous positive comments about the entire W/S organization is a big plus in my book; who needs headaches dealing with ofc. personnel when you've got other issues to deal with OTR?
watkins&shepard horrible dnt do it

Doesn't w/s make you lump a bunch of heavy furniture around and eat down your 70?

WOW ok I had made a post about trucker bios. THIS IS EXACLTY what I was looking for.
Now can anyone give me a list of OTR companys so that I may go to each of their websites and find want company might fit me best out of school.
I know the school will have recruiters come in but isnt it like the military blow smoke big promises then SLAM reality is they lied? -
what is this load or stop pay?
My dad had to unload a truck of butter by hand. I remeber him telling the story him and my mom spent all day. they would not let him use a pallet truck or forklift. butter was in boxes of like 12 little butter pack to a box. 100's and 100's of boxes.. hes was ticked of roayl. would NEVER EVER allow imperial butter in the house ever again..LOL -
You may want to spend more time reading, alot of info is available on this site.

We do unload our furniture runs, but no it doesn't eat up your 70 at all, 15 minutes per stop....

In IN I would sugest Watkins Shepard (Dry Vans), Millis Transfer (Dry Vans) , Maverick (Flatbed and Reefers)
Furniture Stops Origionating out of Conover, NC (this is where most of the LTL runs come from) is $20/stop
Furniture Stops Origionating out of Myrtle, MS are $25/stop

They can keep that heavy furniture moving, sounds like a painful way to make money. Makes my back hurt just thinking about it.
