Then it seems like it's an industry wide complaint, not company specific...Many find out after they get into this it doesn't work for them, who's fault is that?...Again, what about WS do some consider a negative?...It may not be perfect, but from what I read on here, it may be as close as it can get in this industry...JMHO...

 

I have nothing to say bad about WS as a company, never worked for em, never dealt with em, I was just going to bust the chops of a certain WS driver here, but then decided it wasn't appropriate

 

Dave has worked for W/S for 27 yrs and if you ever see a list of drivers in order of seniority his name will be the first one you read. He's been through it all with the company, both good and bad.
And believe me the things he sees now have absolutely nothing to do with anything in his personal life, he knows the industry inside and out. He is more than used to this lifestyle.

Whenever I have made a comment on here about the company that might be negative then I get replies from the 10 or 12 regular posters telling me that I don't know what I'm talking about, seems like they think they know more than he does. As he always tells me it is what it is....

Now before you all start saying that he should just change companies, he would in a heart beat but he is 2 yrs away from retirement and doesn't want to start over now.

 

When things stop being "the way they were" people that have been with a company as long as Dave have complaints, I understand where he, and you, are coming from...You're talking about the span of almost 3 decades, longer than many working for them have even been alive...I respect the hell out of him for that tenure and wish I would run into him so I could pick such an experienced brain...I hope his last 2yrs are as easy for him as possible, he's earned it...

 

It's not that he feels like W/S is bad, it's just not the company it once was in alot of aspects. I don't know how many times he's made the comment that old Stan Watkins is probably turning in his grave at what they have done to his company...

 

W/S has some of the ugliest drivers out there. Not saying who now but OMG!!!!!

 

People at Chevy, Chrysler and Ford say the same things! LOL

Nothing is constant but change, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse but those that weren't there can't miss something they never had or knew...I'm also sure he could say that about the entire industry....

I still look forward to taking you up on your invitation if I can ever get back to UT...

 

Negative: You have to live within 120 miles of a terminal, and there isn't one near where we live. (Or JCW would be w/ W/S in a heartbeat!)

 

Your absolutely right, I've been working for the feds for 30 yrs and things have really changed with us over the years as well....as you can imagine...LOL

Absolutely, invitation is always open if you get back here.

 

Well now, I could see that being a negative for some...I have no clue, is that an unusual policy among companies?
