Not positive, but I think allowed after umm 90 days I'd say, plus a deposit. I don't know about if they have a limit on the size or not. But I'm still just a WS wannabe, so hopefully one of the guys will pipe up here and give the real skinny...or just give 'em a call!

warp, good job on the reply...
it is 90 days, and as far as size goes, i know 2 driver that have really big dogs with them..so i dont think size is any issue. the pet deposit is $500, you can pay it either up front, or they can take it from you pay weekly is whatever amount it is that you want them to take out.. upon leaving watkins, or leaving the dog at home for good, youll get your deposit back in full, not right away, pretty much have to have the truck checked out and make sure its in good shape..

Still following the thread guys and still picking up great info on W/S every day. Hoping to be able to set something up in June as i dont graduate truck school until May 14th and of course the family decided that would be agreat time to fly in from Ireland, ah well another 2 weeks wont kill me.

How is the west region going right now? Also wondering if W/S offer lease opportunities?

irishtrucker, they dont have a lease opportunities,
i cant tell you how the west is doing... but i can tell you how the east is... but based on your location it would appear that you are looking to stay west??

are you in school now??? and if you are, you say u dont graduate till may.. how long is your program?

School is 18 weeks, just got our permits on Tuesday and doing forklift right now before doing the driving, the last 6 weeks are an internship driving for the school (foodlink) to offset the fact the course is practicall free apart from DMV fees. The school is great, they have had us chaining and using scales and a lor of other useful stuff.

So if you are basd in the west is their a chance to go east as well or is it run more regional? Thanks for your reply.

When I talked to Sandy earlier this week, she said they still had a hiring freeze for the Salt Lake, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and of course Michigan areas.

salt lake, vegas and phoenix are all new to me, didnt no they had a freeze there. keep checking, as the new year rolls in, and with any luck the enconemy picks up, im sure they will lift the freeze in those areas,
as for Michigan not so much :biggrin_25523:

i can only speak for myself on this.
I run the east coast, and i run non-stop... actually have to beg for a reset! not that i need it hour wise, but my body its self just needs one solid day of doing nothing...
the past 3-4 months i have been averaging well over 2700 weekly., a bad week for me is 2800.. on the norm i get around 3000 weekly... and thats no lie... i run non stop. and im always preloaded at least 2 trips in advance and usually 3 trips preplanned for the weekend that starts on friday night and keeps me rolling till sometime tuesday...
i dont bs, i dont waste time, and i take each load, no matter where too with a big'ol smile! :biggrin_25525:...
lots of these guys on here ask me when im coming out west, and i want to really bad! i wanna get there and see everyone, specialy phnx to go see my boo rednek :biggrin_25522:, but on the same hand, i dont want to give up on what i call endless miles out here... just the other day i was talking to a frind of mine, whos a driver here, and he said im always staying east... he told me " its not fair!! " :biggrin_2554:... im not sure how or why its not fair... maybe cause each load has stops on it and he dont like doing stops :biggrin_25514:.. i do...

as for getting miles... it depends on who you are as a driver/person... if u whine cry and throw a fit over loads, even if you tell dispatch in a joking manner, they know ur being serious about it. they remember that... me, i say nothing at all unless i have a issue with truck or trl..
but like i said, thats just me, and i can only speak for me and the east coast.

serious_sam, JustSonny and rednek Thank this.
