1828 I might be going down tommorow also I'm more worried about getting a load out tommrow night or Saturday than anything. I have been off almost all week so far and they said they had to order more parts. Imma pm you my cell #. Well I can't pm for another 20 posts so here's my # 9512001638

 

Warp, now that you have a few miles and loads under your belt what do you think of trucking? Do you like it?

 

It is different, I'll give it that. I've seen a lot of the country that was beautiful and some that was....let's say not so much! The place I had to unload at today was crazy! A big bakery (think Twinkies) that had a square block backed up to a freeway with residential streets all around it that were NOT designed for a 53 footer to be anywhere near there....I had to turn down this little street, go to the end where there was a turn-around, and then park along the street and pallet jack the load to the edge where the guy forklifted it off. It was the hairest place I've had to get to yet,and I'm sure there will be more....

I am liking it so far except for missing my wife, and I'm sure that doesn't get any easier.

As for your truck, I did see 1828 I believe getting some work done on it...is it a Volvo or a Freightshaker? I'm in 1832, so they are fairly close to each other...

 

yea they told me today they had to order some more parts. im not making squat for money sitting and the check i just had was squat, so im hurting waiting to get that thing moving again.

 

I saw your truck for sure today...they are working on it. Something on the drives as they had some of the tires off, and the door was open and a lot of the dash was removed. So I'd say they are making some sort of progress....don't despair, the miles will come sooner or later (hopefully sooner....)

As for my truck, they are working on it as well, they say it should be ready this afternoon or tomorrow. I'm not even sure if they dispatch out over the weekend here, but if not, there should be plenty to go around on Monday I would think.

 

Just got a call from them, they will be done tonight and are having it detailed inside tommorow morning!!! So I will be there around 10am ish to pick it up and see about getting a load out.

 

Wow!! Sweet....how do you rate a detail? I'd most welcome that...is your Volvo an automatic or a 10 speed?

 

What do you mean how do you rate a detail? You mean how did I manage to get it? My truck smelled like urine inside so they told me they would get it taken care of, well I guess the detail is the fix. Hopefully it will be decent ya know.


Trucks a 10 automatic.. I wish it was a Manual though, it feels so much less controllable with a #### auto. But its the cards Ive been dealt so I will do what I can with it.

 

I wasn't being a smart ### about rating a detail....I didn't realize it smelled so bad on the inside. Hope it works out and smells nice now.

Mine's an auto as well...I'm starting to get used to it by now though. There are times I want a manual and times I like having it. I wish the Volvos had more room inside them though....

 

Wasn't implying ya were, I was curious as to what you meant. Anyway I am gonna be picking it up tommorow hopefully it's done good I'm bringing my shopvac and cleaning stuff just incase anyway
