0.27cpm X 148,000miles = $39960. Little under 3000 miles per week and remember drop pay and home time which could equal each other out.

    Just some rough numbers.

iv got a thought for everyone that posts on here regularly, ill try and post it, but the " big brothers " of the forum may delete this... ill try anyway..
does everyone that posts on here, that are ***current***(<~~which means is employed by watkins shepard and is in a watkins shepard truck driving) have a facebook account??? i have been thinking for a few months now about maybe starting a facebook page for current drivers here at the company, so we can all stay in touch and see where eachother is and share some information that should not be shared on this public forum, such as phone numbers to shippers/recievers, phone numbers to all of our terminals, directions, the weekly qc messages from saftey could be shared on their incase anyone is at home and can see what the latest news is with-in the company,(i figure someone can type up the "macon grams" and post it on their) and so on... all of us could be in touch, and with blackberrys and iphones its almost instant access to facebook,
the site would have a direct link to this site as well.... and the reason i say current drivers is because i would want all of us to still stay on here as well to help out with potential new drivers and still answer all the questions they have....
so what do all of you *current* drivers think about this idea?
i hope this dosnt get deleted

    Henley and Warpdrvr Thank this.

It was a good idea when you first mentioned it to me a couple of months ago, and it's still a good one....

Shifting gears....I got my latest load delivered to the Wal-Mart DC in Cullman, AL. So many hoops to jump thru...stop at the gate and sign your life away..cut seal and open doors, back to the dock, chock tires, disconnect, move truck away from trailer a few feet, put a nose jack under the nose, go into shipping/receiving and give them the paperwork, put your CB on a particular channel and wait until they call your door number, and do it all in reverse.... Oh, plus they had a weekly meeting about the time I got there so it took an hour or so extra oy vey.... Now sitting dwn the street at a little truck stop waiting for another load....

A little side note here...I think I had my first "lot lizard" encounter last nite. I was sleeping (very soundly by the way), and I was woke up by someone banging on the sleeper I think. I come out of this deep sleep thinking, was that someone knocking, or is my APU acting up? I listen for about 30 seconds then I think I hear a female voice outside of my rig. I get up and open the curtains, but there is no one there by that time. Now I'm pissed off, so I turn on the CB and sure enough, I hear a "lady of the evening" advertising her services at the J I'm staying at. So, being mad and all, I kept messing with her on the radio and just keying the mike so she couldn't do her business...She tossed a few curse words my way, but I was just laughing it off. After about 10 minutes of that, she all the sudden was no where to be found on the radio... good riddance, and I went back to sleep after making sure my doors were locked....(they already were).

    Now some observances about Alabama:

    1. Very beautiful landscape here....all green and such along the interstate. I wish CA had some scenery like that.

    2. The people so far I've talked with are all real friendly.

    3. Do they all drive like A-Holes?? Example. There are 3 lanes on the interstate. I'm in the #3 lane (right side), and I want to pass a slower moving vehicle. I turn on my turn signal and look to my mirror on the left. 2 or 3 cars decide they have to get by me first before I can move over, and my now I've lost all my momentum. Here's the kicker: The #1 lane was WIDE open, any or all of them could have moved to the left and let me in, but NO, they couldn't be bothered...This happened at least 3 times in this state! I've found that a lot of people will try to let you in if possible on the interstates, but here in AL, no way...../rant over...LOL

Other than that, it's been a nice couple of days, the weather is absolutely gorgeous today.....

Well, truth be told, socal is like that as well, but it's expected there, that, and also there's usually not an empty lane to be found....
As for coming back in summer, heck it already feels like it already. I sweat just thinking about getting out of my air conditioned rig.....I started sweating in Arkansas and haven't stopped yet, LOL
