Our class was supposedly large. We had like ten 30-day'ers, ten 10-day'ers and 2 experienced guys who were out of there in 3 days.
We did very little with the 30-day'ers, a few hours in the classroom was all really. Not sure if they always start the 10-day and 30-day programs at the same time.

Does anyone know if they have orientation anywhere other than MT? I have a couple years experience so i wouldnt need the school--but have also noticed most are from the west. Just wondering if they do orientation at any of the other terminals?

By they way--you guys info here has been well informed! thanks

They do have orientation at other locations, though you'll need to call them to find out where. They only do the 30-day class in MT but sounds like you'd be able to get on a location closer to where you live. Just call and ask, I'm not sure where the other one's are.

You may have to take the states written exams too. At least I know you do if you move into Oregon with an out of state CDL.

This is prolly gonna sound like a stupid question and maybe y'all cant answer it since most of you from the west--but--does otr drivers go 48 states or does it depend on where you live? or maybe you dont know--:biggrin_2559:

Yes, we do all 48 as an OTR driver.

You will get LOTS of miles, once you get out of your home terminal, and into the system. Once you get west, they can keep you running in a continuos loop forever it seems LOL. If you request to stay in a certian area of the U.S. your miles may suffer.

Expect some LTL either way. It's not that bad really.

Expect a lot of terminal to terminal also. Drop and hook.

Give Missoula a call, while you may talk to recruiting in Missoula. You will eventually wind up in Hickory for orientation and road testing, since you are experienced.
