After hearing so many of you talk so good about W/S I'm really thinking about going there to start my career with them. I have yet to see a negative post about them & after talking to a friend of mine it really sounds like the place to be.

I know i seem to askin a lot of questions--but otr is what i am looking for--i dont care much for LTL. The thoughts of me pushing around furniture dont really appeal to me if you know what i mean! :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559: Although, i have searched high and low to find bad about this company--it just hasn't appeared yet. It sounds like a great company from what i have seen.

If you go to the W/S web site they show all of their terminal locations.

just some more info. driving 48 states and across the country seems to be done mostly by the teams. Most of the solo drivers from the east seem to stay east and same with the west from what I have seen to date. but there has been no problem getting miles so far in the west.

We have a gated and secure drop yard there. But, it can be used for parking during home time :)

These are minor issues really. An OTR driver (solo or team) can get caught in a loop, caused by terminal freight that needs to be moved. Many of the terminal to terminal loads between the west and eastern parts, are moved by teams. But solos get them too.

When you get right down to brass tacks. How many NC, GA, & MS drivers want to spend 3-4 weeks running Denver to Seattle to LA to Denver loop in the dead of winter? How many of the NW drivers want to run Jersey to Cleveland to Dalton to Jersey for weeks on end?

I'm of the opinion, miles are miles, regardless where they come from. I do like a break in scenery from time to time though ;)

And getting a load from one side of the country, to the other, is as simple as asking. May take a bit, but it will happen.

Guys & Gals I know I sound like a recruiter. But, I have issues with W&S from time to time also. But the issues I have, are generally personality conflicts created by myself.

When the chips are down and counted, my wallet and family will vote Watkins and Shepard EVERY time.

My wife would beat me like a rented mule if I even mentioned leaving. :D

Dance i feel as if you are telling your experience with them but I also haven't seen too many bad things about them here. Its awesome to see someone feel that way about their job and you do a great job of answering us. I so agree that I dont really care to driving in wyoming and montana in the winter but i got no problems with the northeast but thats only because I am used to the northeast for I have stayed mostly in the Northeast for the past year, but on the other hand i would like to go at least mid west some as well.

I also agree==miles are miles==they always add up. I am grateful for your information for you seem to tell it straight up and you have been with them it seems for a little while. I appreciate the info. :biggrin_25517:
