Cool. My next purchase is going to be an inverter and microwave. Don't have use for a TV...I'm like dance, too tired to watch it when I shut down. I usually just check my email, call home and hit the sack...
Hey not too sure if you all heard but a friend and fellow driver that was in my orientation class was pushed into a river by an avalanche a couple of days ago. It happened on HWY 12 in Idaho near Lolo pass. He got hit twice, the first one required him to call dispatch and tell them there was no damage but he would be needing a tow out of it. then the 2nd one hit and pushed him into the Lochsa river onto the passanger side of the truck. After he settled he saw some light coming from the corner of his windsheild so he broke it and pulled it into the truck and started digging himself out. There were about a dozen trucks stranded up there and some other truckers helped pull him out of his truck to safety. He got away with just minor bumps and bruises and is home tonight with his family. There are a couple of articles about it online but they both say the truck was unoccupied, which after talking to him, is totally false.
Just glad he's okay, he's a good dude.... -
Truckin,
We all got a QC on it the other day. Good to hear the driver was okay.
But it goes to prove, if anything can go wrong it will.
It also drives home the point, you should ALWAYS carry a "mini" survival pack on your truck. I do, and always have. Especially in the northwest area.
Items should include anything you may need to survive for 2-3 days. Besides my microwave. I carry Sterno and a fold up campers stove. Folds flat, and is small enough to put in a glove box.
If I got caught out in the open for a day or 2. I could be comfortable, and eat warm/hot food. I could extend it to about 4 days if needed easily.
I carry a sub zero sleeping bag. I don't use it. But I have in the past.Bengal Thanks this. -
Hey Sal, I cant send PM's yet, PM me your email address and I will get you the info you requested. Later, WingRider

Just from reading a few of the posts here, I wonder if WS would have been good for hubby. They were the first company to call him after he sent out apps but he went with Celadon here closer to home. He talked to the recruiter from WS and they said time out is usually 3 weeks. We had looked at their website and really liked what we saw, but he didn't like the three week out thing. Oh well. He went with Celadon and they seem to be a good company too. At least from the posts on here and other forums.

Have been following this post for awhile and was wondering what happened to Arkie? I know he was trying to get his blood pressure down but I have not heard much more. I hope all is good with him and thanks for all the insight into Watkins. I have a phone interview next week with them. Good Luck and keep posting!!!

Arkie did not go with Watkins/Shepard because they would not co-sign his student loan.
-
Is this a joke?
Ya must not have been following too closely. The whole sordid drama has been played out on here for weeks. He should be along any second to set your mind at ease. -
LMAO....shhhhh you'll wake him.
-
I am awake now sorry, what I should have said as I have been reading these 43 pages for the last 2 hours and Arkie kind of disappeared. I was interested to see if he passed his physical since he was having problems with that. I did find that post, sounded kind of strange about how they handled him.
