B-rad... It's going fine so far . I'm looking foward for winter to be over with. As far as W/S they are as good as everything you've read about them.

Hey Brinkman don't swet the physical I passed it and I am 56. The hardest thing for me was having to bend over touch my toes and hold that position for 3 min. This is the list from W/S that they want you to do.

2.Upper Extremity ROM ----------------arms and shoulder movement
    3. Balance - single leg stance -----------Stand on one leg 15 sec.
    4. Grip strength ---------------------------measured with a grip tester
    5. Lift floor to waist---------------------- 70# X 3
    6. Floor to shoulder lift-------------------40# X 3
    7. Bilateral carry---------------------------60# X 25feet
    8. Push / pull -------------------------------push a sled with 62# 25 ft. and pull it back
    9. Crawl-------------------------------------Crawl 10 ft.
    10. Repetitive squats-----------------------holding 10# do 15 squats
    11. Standing trunk rotation----------------Rotate left and right 15 times
    12. 18" step ups-----------------------------Step up 18" 5 times
    12. Walk--------------------------------------walk on a tread mill at 2-3 mph for 5 min.
    13. Forward Bending -----------------------Bend over forward and hold for 3 min.
    14. Reaching eye level----------------------Hold arms out in front at eye level for 3 min.
    15. Crouching--------------------------------sit in a crouched position for 3 min.

I just completed and faxed my application, mvr, school certificate and all W/S required to review for hire. I graduated from a school here in NC two weeks ago and have my Class A. Recruiting told me that if everything looked good they would contact me within 48 hours to set up a physical, drug screen, and the physical test somewhere in my area. I have no accidents or tickets in the past 5 years and have a solid work history so I'm not worried about jumping through all the hoops.

What I wanted to know is what do they have you do during the 10 day orientation for entry level driver just out of school? I will be going down to Hickory, NC terminal for this orientation on 3/26 once all the paperwork/physical stuff is approved and out of the way. Any drivers on here from W/S went through this type of orientation with them? I'm gonna ask recruiting too when they call back if the application is approved. Any info someone has would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Basically, they are going to make sure you can drive, back, etc. They are also, going to teach you the W/S way of doing paper work etc, Qualcom, logging, you will probably have to watch serveral videos and take a few tests, but all in all its pretty laid back and you should have no problems as long as you know how to drive and back. Hope this helps.
