You make the same in winter...as you do in summer.
X cents per mile
How fast you drive...isn't an issue with them as long as you don't wreck the truck.
But yeh...it's gonna suck in winter months![]()

So are you able to place you in your logbook as off duty while waiting for a road to clear?
I dont see how you make as much money in the winter waiting for a pass to clear as you do in the summer?
Im very confused!
-
and I am still waiting for other classmates that will be in missoula whem im there!I will be there dec 3rd.riding a bus for 1100 miles will be fun
-
They'll reimburse air fare up to what the greyhound would have cost. A quick search shows you can get from Sacramento to Missoula for $15 more on an airplane than the bus. Might be a good $15 to spend.
-
WS will reimburse you the bus ticket price if you fly.
http://www.allegiantair.com/ flies out of SF, CA to Missoula, MT.
I flew them from Mesa,AZ for my 10 day and it was the best extra $$ I spent in a long time (it is a direct flight).
one of the guys in my class took the CA to Missoula ride

A buddy of mine works for them now. And asked me if I'd like to go team. How do there teams do?

Okay...that one got away from you. It was a joke

You....get...paid.... X amount..... for every mile you drive. Regardless of what time of the year it is....or the weather conditions.
However......
You won't be waiting too much for the road to clear. Most likely, you'll be outside the truck....putting on chains.
In the event of a road closure. Well, you'll be sitting where ever you are. Making nothing....
That's why it's important that you pack a mini survival kit on the truck. If the road closes or gets blocked 30 miles from the nearest place of safety, you're life can depend on what rations/items you have on your truck.
W&S had a truck taken over the side of a mountain by an avalanche last winter, during a closure. Driver and all.......
There were pictures posted somewhere. The story is here... http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...6006-big-rig-pushed-into-river-avalanche.html -
That would explain the reefer I saw the other day! I had to do a double take.. it was pretty nice of a trailer than what you normally see hooked up behind a W/S tractor.
-
We're saving the nice trailers...for hard times LMAO.
######...we got about 20 or more NEW trailers stacked in the doors/yard at Hickory...that NEVER move.
I just groan every time I see a 2100 series on my paperwork.
Thankfully, they do take care of the trailers...if we point out a problem. -
Awesome, teams are A#1 on the dispatch priority list.
O/O second, company Solo last.
