Soon to be Thanks I would like to welcome you and any new drivers. This is probably without a doubt one of the best companies out there it has changed as I said but it is still good. If you knew the majority owner of the company you would understand why it is a great place to work and his step dad..Hence the name Watkins in the name I am told was just the best...But Steve has no problem with hoping on a forklift and unloading for you or whatever you need. Last summer a driver layed his truck over in the middle of the freeway he was one of the first there to help and just do what he needed. Everyone needs to remember that NO job is perfect and this is a company where you are a name and it is small enough office people in time recognise your voice on the phone you are not a number...ADMIN REMOVED

I've been driving for W/S since mid-November now and have nothing but good things to say about the company. The only time that I have had to sit for any length of time seemed to come when running through the holidays, and that was mostly due to scheduling issues with the shippers/recievers.

Anyhow, you are definately not a number around here and only after being on for a month the dispatchers and some terminal managers already know me by name.

Drew, I can tell you that a lot of the local guys were told to get on the road or find a new job. The company restructured some last year, and there aren't as many local guys as there used to be. The benefit for me is that there's more local work to do, so we're able to earn some local money rather than just sit. After running for 4 weeks with the company, I haven't seen Denver at all, and I can't tell you anything specific about Denver.

Hey buddy, I am now back at home... only for a day though. Got a load of flour from Great Falls to Tracy, CA. The drop is only an hour and a half away from home so I decided to run it hard to get an extra day at home. the wife liked that idea :biggrin_25525:
Things have been good now that the holiday "rush" is over :biggrin_25525: (and by "rush" I mean a lot of sitting)
    How you been?

I have been to Denver a few times, every load I have got out of there were beer loads. Not sure what else they have, just my experience.

Aww, poor guy couldn't stand being away from home for more than a few days:biggrin_25525: Hehe, just messing with ya. Glad you were able to go back to shortline after being thrown out to OTR. Good luck out there and don't get into too much trouble.

And yes, either Fort Collins (Anheuser Busch) or Golden (Coors). My last two loads out of there were from Coors.

And wow it's nice to be able to have a 34 hr reset at home rather than a truck stop.:biggrin_255:

I ran some shortline out of sayreville last week and it bores me really.

Im from near binghamton NY and have been running those roads for years racing bicycles.

They pay is ok though. 1 trip I made nearly $41 an hour.

I like the terminal to terminal trips with FAK inbetween.

Im actually headed to Denver know per my own request. Thinking about moving to Golden this year and wanted to check it out.

Im about on the same lines as Java, running 3000 plus per week exept for the week of new years. I only ran about 1800 that week. That was the only time ive been layed over, but I didnt even have to put in for a lay over number. Dispatched sent it when they told me no load for the day.

I always get home when I want too.
