My wife said she'd write something up for you when she gets a few minutes.

They don't have different weights for women. When you're out on the road, you have to be able to lift that box, or pull those chains out, or crank the trailer landing gear just like the guys do. It wouldn't be fair to you to give you a lighter test, then tell you that you still have to do the same job even though we didn't make sure you were prepared for it.

You know, that's exactly what I was thinking as far as the weights. They wanna make sure you can perform the physical aspects of trucking as well, which makes sense! Whether male or female, the stuff still weighs the same.... I'll keep doin' my pushups! lol Tell your wife I'd appreciate any info she has to offer! And thank YOU for asking her for me! I really do appreciate it!

I think he wants to know how many of the loads you have to unload yourself.

    Vickster, i try :) hahaha :biggrin_25525:
its funnt, i see guys looking for help., and yeah they get the help, i offer to help. but when a female is looking for help, she usually has a line of guys lined up at her door willing to lick wash her truck. its pretty funny to see all these gulking at the women drivers like they never seen any before.
im just a kid. 22, and i have to see any of the younger lady drivers around my age...
tho im called " Cougar Hunter " in CT. thats a long story, ill save it for a rainy day.
sorry i was wrong about the weight issue. but i wouldnt worry about it..
if I can do it, ANYONE can do it... haha. kidding. when do you take your test??
as for taking the truck home. when i started, and yes im still here. they said that if you live with-in 100miles you could, but iv heard that has changed, im sure due to our wonderful econemy, as well as the high fuel cost these days. but it depends how close you live, im sure if u lived down the rd they wouldnt mind. but thats for them to say not me

    Hi there Soon 2 B!
No worries about bein' wrong on the weight thing. You did say you 'think', so you weren't completely wrong! We're supposed to go to orientation on the 9th of next month. I haven't heard from Sandy in a couple days; maybe I'll give her a call tomorrow. She's processing our applications, but has all the info she needs. She's already approved the school we went to, and our records are clean, so there really shouldn't be a reason why we won't be there.
I know what ya mean about guys gaukin' at the women.... trust me, we don't mind! lol I used to dispatch at a couple companies in the past, and there was never a dull moment! Some types of women would have probably filed for sexual harrassment, but it was just all in good fun. Gotta know how to take a joke, and dish it right out back at em'!
So you're 22, huh? Just a young buck! lol But you've got yourself a good job with a great company for being a young dude, so that shows you've got your priorities straight! Good for you! :hello1: You'll have to fill me in on the 'Cougar' story some day! lol
I do think we'll be able to take the truck home, like you said. We do live under 100 miles, and now that you mentioned that, I do remember her saying something about that. It's definitely too far to park the car and drive back n' forth to the terminal.
Wow, I'm just a babblin' away tonight! lol Sorry 'bout that! Been kinda bored here lately.... ready to get out on the road for sure!! Thanks for the conversation! Have an awesome night!

I have come across a two or three young ladies out here so far & they stopped me dead in my tracks. I just couldn't believe they were drivers.

You couldn't believe it why? C'mon now, there's no rule that in order for a woman to drive a rig, she has to be repulsive looking, right? lol With the way the economy is, I have a feeling there's gonna be more and more women out there driving.

Soon 2B, I tried sending you a personal message, but I didn't realize you have to have so many posts in order send one. What's up with that???

I don't mean it like that at all, drivers come in a shapes, sizes & colors... You just don't expect to see one that could go back to bikini modeling if this trucking thing didn't work out.

LOL I hear ya, and I know what you mean. But like I said about the economy earlier, there isn't a high demand for bikini models... well, not where I live, anyway, much less any job that good looks and a hot body will earn you a decent (respectable & legal) living. lol
