@MsJamie
Hi MsJamie,
How are you?
I feel bad that this happened to you. With a record like yours, there is no rhyme or reason to be out of a job, at least as far as job performance is concerned. I TRULY & GENUINELY wish you the absolute best of luck finding a decent job as soon as possible. With the Corona virus going on, the job market has become a very tough place.
This definitely sounds like a serious case of both wage discrimination, possibly also age discrimination. The labor board really needs to know about this.
God bless you and your entire family! May God be with you on this ordeal!

Please see post #70.
Lord willing, this same situation does NOT ever happen to you.
God bless you and your entire family! -
what were you fired for?
-
If they're one of the drivers hanging out in the terminal, probably one of the same ones complaining about not making any money. Just my guess. And that is any company. Never fails if you go to any trucking company terminal there will be someone saying "i ain't making no money", "my truck keeps breaking down", etc.

I am curious to know this too. Generally every state is an at-will employment state, meaning you can quit or be fired with or without notice and with or without cause, for any reason, or no reason at all. Saying fired for "BS" reasons leaves a lot to imagination. I mean I got fired for a BS reason once, that BS reason was refusing to drive an unsafe vehicle the company had not repaired, after knowing the safety related issues with the truck and still not repairing it thinking I was just going to drive it away like it was. You could attempt claiming discrimination and what not like the other posted said you should contact the labor board about, but it's not as simple as making an accusation and it's decided right away. The burden of proof is always on the accusing party to prove a violation has taken place. Generally if you don't have an "employment contract", at-will employment applies with very few exceptions for example terminating a driver for not driving an unsafe vehicle. Of course they cannot fire you for any protected reason, such as race, sex, nationality, etc. Terminating "a half dozen" drivers out of a pool of probably 20,000 drivers doesn't sound like wage discrimination to me.Last edited: Jun 29, 2020

Amen to all of this.

Here is something to look at. If you were fired for anything relating to refusing to operate an unsafe vehicle at least. It is very costly to trucking companies that perform that act.
