The beauty of WAZE bear reports is that the 4-wheelers are inputting information as well as pro drivers. In this case you have 4-wheelers doing something productive for a change

CB still beats Waze in almost every other category tho

You do realize at best maybe 50% of truckers even have it on. CB radio is nothing like it was 25 years ago. On the face of it I agree with the concept of looking outside your truck, scanning your mirrors and gauges. You do this properly it don't leave much time for anything else!

Playing with your phone while operating a CMV; stupid. Following directions not CMV specific; stupid.

A moron tried to drag a 53' dry van down my small little one way residential street the other night. He got stuck on my neighbors hilly yard and his trailer nose was hung up on a power line. A class A total moron! I asked him why he drove down such a road with a CMV and he stated his GPS told him too. My next question was, "how long have you been driving?" He said 18 years! I call BS and even if he did have that kind of experience he #### well should have known better. He caused hundreds of dollars in damaged property and I know it costed his company $1000 for the two wreckers it took to get him out of his mess.

Numerous times a day I have to swerve to avoid having my mirror taken off my another big truck because he's playing with some sort of electronic device. I'm sick of the steering wheel holders. I'm planning on wiring my truck for cameras and after they're on I will no longer avoid these collisions. Instead, I plan on letting the idiots damage my truck. I'll get it fixed by their carriers general liability and the moronic driver will get a preventable on his/her record. Eventually these losers will be forced from the interstates due to bad driving records.

    PUT DOWN THE GPS/PHONE!!!

Unfortunately far too many of the waze fans at best can barely spell CB, let alone figure out how to use one.

I use waze in my personal vehicle. Traffic here is a nightmare.

Let’s be real. Most your guys trucks don’t even go fast enough to have to worry about cops, and if you’re speeding through the city and traffic you’re a douche.

This app is essential to me for local driving. I mainly use it pre-trip to find out which freeways are better to take. One accident out here can set you back over an hour so it's important to stay on top of the traffic.

For example if I need to drive to LA and the 10 or the 60 are the same distance Waze tells me which one is better based on current traffic. I don't use it beyond getting that basic information.

    Don't be so smug.

I've got the app but only use it to see how much time I'll be stuck in traffic. Don't use it at all if I get a response back on the CB from someone who's closer to the scene.

Nah, Im not worrying about poor Doc.

The fastest I had was a 1993 COE Freightliner, something over a 500+ hp detroit and torque rating that was essentially unlimited until 2150 RPM. 9 Speed rockwell The fuel pump actually quits at about 116 if on the flat, but when loaded after it quit momentum gets it to around 128-135 depending on your level of acceleration off the previous downgrade.

Westbound at Milesburg (Snowshoe) PA requires a slow to 122 or so at the bottom near the truckstop curve exit, get it back to around 126 at the bottom. Still doing 80 upgrade midway and top over the summit at 60 plus just like a elevator. When you put away state college and start some of those long bridges over the Monogelhala etc you are back to 130 plus off the downgrades on momentum.

Those days are long gone. Cross PA end to end in 3 hours or so rather than 8 at the speed limit.

Now Scranton southbound (WB) is awesome. Some of those milemarkers put away by stopwatch is at or around 150 or so and that's all gravity on those long downgrades. You cannot be at those speeds on any kind of curve, you will lose your life plus the next 100 in front of you.

Even with police pulling you over for tickets you only lost a hour and some money. He he he.
