Looks good on Elon. If he did one thing at a time, he might actually be good at something.

It's an energy density thing. Long way to go before any trucks beyond even the very small radius, very light loads are replaced. Probably about the same as moving any significant % of truck traffic onto the rails. Diesel not going anywhere anytime soon, even with the EPA doing it's best to squash it. Perhaps a hybrid system where the truck has an electric motor powered by an overhead wire system (no batteries) similar to train-trolley cars while on certain roads may work.

 

Just like the govt and their special interests killing the coal industry of the midwest, so power plants are forced to use Mr B’s rail system to haul it from the Dakotas, using non-DPF, diesel-powered locomotives, belching their black smoke into our fragile atmosphere. Previously, the coal was being mined and handled with electric equipment, belted directly to the plant, where it was being burned by an EPA-compliant plant, using exhaust scrubbers. Never in the history or foreseeable future, did/was that plant ever NOT able to cleanly burn high sulfur coal. But, like so many other times, the environment was whored out, to build a case upon. The reality is Mr B didn’t already have enough billions and flaky govt officials didn’t have enough millions.

 

Cue the methheads to steal the copper.

 

I love how because we arent drooling and shlurping this tech up the second it falls out of someones ### especially after the whole gen 1 emissions feaisco and ongoing disaster that are emissions we are all "scared of progress"

Meanwhile ligit concerns such as longevity, weight, lack of chargeing stations, lack of infrastructure to actully CHARGE that mamy trucks, lack of range, lack of ANY reliable firm info, the seemingly keeping of any little problem under wraps hush hush issues, concernes about how we are going to recycle or dispose of these used batterys, concerns about how long these take to charge vs diesel, how they effect tires, year over year maintaince costs, what happens when some retard sets one on fire rideing the brakes or overheats the electronics causeing fires and how most fire departments basically gotta just let em burn, how they will age and many mamy MANY other issues are swept under the rug while people put their fingers in their ears and chant LALALALLALALAL PROGRESS LALALALLALALA U SO AFRAID!!!!! LALALALLALALALA really shows how truely ignorant these people are.

If the tech works, is cheaper and is practical many of us will eventually turn to it. If its a boondoggle like many other so called "green" programs have turned out to be or entirely unworkable then we will keep refuseing to use it. That simple
