This is why they have the window wash bucket mounted so high.

I've always been local or put up in a hotel like at my last job but do the shower stalls have their own toilet? If so I might have to shell out a few $$ to go #2 in private

Yes, they all do today generally speaking. At a very tiny handful of places like certain Broadway J's in the PacNW come to mind, they may have "premium" shower rooms as opposed to "basic" shower rooms with no toilet. Lots has improved in this area since the 70's when I started.

If you did not recently fuel 50+ gallons, you can expect to pay anywhere from $5-$12 for a shower room. Most of the Loves and Pilots and TA/Petros have a more or less universal showers setup that runs across the entire chain. Some of the smaller independent truck stops are less $ but you may find some there that have very limited hot water supply (tank type setup) but generally all the chain truck stops today have been upgraded to continuous tankless hot water systems

Privacy? Back in the 70’s the 76 TS’s had 3 showers upstairs just like a locker room. Don’t think that would go over well today.

Hell no. I didn't like those places then and I would not tolerate them today. But that's what was offered yesteryear in some places, and it was better than nothing ... but we didn't know any different. You don't miss or yearn for something you never had.

I'm going to shower now ( Petro ). I give lots of showers away.
Amazing how you make someone's day if you give them a shower.

I think the irony of this thread is more drivers discovered soap, deodorant, shampoo, and TOOTHPASTE.
They might even discover some females of the species.
