Really the best thing about them is that the price of their grocery stuff (bread, meats, potatoes, etc) is mostly on par with an actual grocery store.

Long before there was this Bucees' craze, there was a real highway stop that provided the essentials
    Clean bathroom and store.
Road Food (candy, bags of chips, bottle of Coca-Cola or Nehi
    Gasoline. No diesel.

Although some locations could accommodate large trucks, those drivers almost always went to any nearby mom and pop truck stop.
Fuel, usually a full service restaurant, plenty of parking, phones, fuel, was a much better option.

The problem now is the mom and pop's have been run out of business, taken over by a merged marketing concept "The Travel Center" trying to be all things to all motorists. And they have missed the mark for both groups, 4 wheelers and truckers.

Bucees' is trying to restore that concept, keep the 2 groups separate because they have very different needs.
Now the only thing we need are real "Truck Stops", no gasoline or EV charging stations, catering to the needs of truckers exclusively.
    Don't hold your breath.

Actually, Stuckey's is still around...not in the numbers it used to be, but still around nonetheless. Indeed, it's led by a Stuckey (founder's granddaughter Stephanie) and she makes regular visits to the stores and even wants to build more of 'em!

I get all of this and it’s hard to disagree with any of that, but the one issue I have them, is they won’t even let you bobtail in. They will literally come out and meet you in the parking lot and tell you that you got like three minutes or the tow trucks on the way. I know a couple drivers who thought they could bobtail in there and just pull up into a regular parking spot and go in and grab a few things and they weren’t even allowed to walk into the store. And they parked way off to the side away from any other vehicles. I mean I get it, if they have no truck policy then they have a truck policy, but I always kind of felt like when you’re bobtailing it’s a bit different. But they don’t want truckers anywhere near those places and at the end of the day, It’s their business and it’s their right.

What can I say man. The disrespect that truckers get, we did it to ourselves. Collectively, the industry has 0 interest in changing the narrative. Dirty trucks, dirty drivers, dirty attitudes, dirty habits, sadly causes Bucees to act this way.

    Bucees doesn’t sell medieval armor.
    No reason to stop there.

And in the case of Kwik Trip/Kwik Star the QUALITY of grocery food will actually be BETTER than what you can get at some grocery stores! Many a time I’ve stocked up my fridge with fruit, salads and drinks at a Kwik Trip/Kwik Star- and I’ve paid 1/3rd or half of what I would pay at a Walmart or TA/Petro or Pilot.
Also, at a Kwik Trip/Kwik Star I’ve yet to see or hear about any incidents/accidents(fights,shootings,etc.) at their locations.
Maybe it’s because they don’t charge for parking and they actually try to make enough truck parking to start!;)

I've been in one Buccees and I think they're over rated. The food and snack items are expensive. Kwik Trip on the other hand has a lot of different hot food that's pretty reasonably priced in my opinion. They have pretty good chicken tenders or bone in chicken along with their other hot food items. Mushroom and Swiss burgers and their breakfast burgers are pretty good. They have taken home meals that you can microwave for 5 or 6 bucks. My wife likes the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese but they've got several different combinations. You can get their chicken cold out of the cooler section for about half price. They've got fruit and other produce too along with cold sandwiches.

If you're in the Midwest and don't have their app on your phone you're probably missing out on some good deals. Even if you travel up here it's worth getting it. If you buy certain items or spend over like $10 in store you can get a discount on gas. They run those offers quite often. You just have to save the offer in the app. I just filled up my wife's car and my pickup tonight and saved 80 cents a gallon on gas, limit of 30 gallons, so I saved $24 just by saving their offers. I don't drive OTR but I've stopped at truck stops while on vacation trips and I'm glad I don't have to pay those inflated prices regularly. I work at a factory and am a yard spotter so not a trucker.

I saw a youtube video yesterday of some lady buying 10 sandwiches from buccees and it cost almost 130 bucks with tax..
I spend that same amount at the grocery store every week and half or so and I eat way better then some stale gas station sandwhich

Which kinda begs what was the point of Kwik Trips post. Nowhere do they overlap. Buccees has been expanding south and east and Kwik Trip is saturating the Midwest.

And I do like Kwik Trip
