I'm all for scholarship athletes getting paid but this seems like a really bad way to do it.

I'm in favor of college athletes getting paid however they can. To me, that's a job. NCAA and and the college football powerhouses have been making money off these kids for years while restricting them from working or taking any other type of compensation. People say to me their getting compensated with a free education. That's such bull ####. Education don't pay the bills, and surely don't provide enough food for these guys. The only thing I dislike about NIL is that not everyone will get paid, just skill position players. If you play offensive line or some other position where you won't be as well known, you won't necessarily be able to capitalize on that cash. I like how some schools have an account dedicated to the cause and all the players get paid.

Boz probably was making a killing. Lol Oklahoma and Boz never got caught. I just never saw another way for the schools to get the best talent other than paying them under the table. Quite frankly, if it weren't for their athletic talent, I have a hard time believing they would have gone to college.

Colleges are nothing but greedy businesses, they really don't care about education for the masses.

I agree with this. The average career length of an NFL player is only like three years. I mean we all have our stars and know about Tom Brady‘s 20 year career and all that but those are truly a unicorn. Most of the players that aren’t superstars and do the daily grind in the NFL are in and out in under four years. If you’re a college athlete on any given play your athletic ability can be taken from you via a serious career ending injury. I think you gotta get paid when you can get paid anyhow you can get paid.
My best friend growing up made himself a multimillionaire. He used to always say “I was born to be a millionaire“. He talked the talk and then he walked the walk. I asked him one time what was his basic philosophy to get where he was. He said, “any and all advantages, if you don’t take them, someone else will and you’ll lose out“.
I’m not gonna say college in of its self is a sham, but not everyone was cut out for college. Some of the most brilliant minds I know never went to college. Some people are just cut out to do their own thing or to go to work and make an honest living. But if you’re a star athlete and you’re bringing millions into a college program that is already in my opinion ripping off its students, why should the college get all the money and you assume all the risk as the athlete? Think about it for real, it’s like a child movie star or something, they are the ones pulling in all the revenue because they are the star, and it would be like the movie maker hoarding and keeping all the money. That’s not fair. Nobody would think that’s fair.
Just my two cents on this.
