There's plenty of people willing to hack your radio up that have plenty of time on their hands that are not distracted. Chances are pretty good The closest shop to your house fits in that category.

Really, the fcc back in 1958 should have put CB on VHF instead of HF. Had they of done this, it would've eliminated the skip issues and allow truck drivers to talk easier to each other, while running a full size antenna that would not be a compromise.

But as such, they put it on HF and then told us not to talk beyond 155 miles. Fortunately they finally came to their senses and lifted that rule. And yet Hard Drive aka 163 aka Mark Sherman aka Mr. Window licker is out there, running his yap, has been all afternoon and doesn't know when to put a lid on it. I'm surprised no one has yet taken action against him.

Before 1958, there was already a Citizen Band, the problem the cost for equipment was too far out of the reach of most people, so they slashed the 11 meter band from Ham radio bands and created an affordable alternative. It wasn't around 1963 when the new archaic rules came into play.

I never heard trucks back in the mid-60's, it was the late 60's when they were being used for truckers.

I agree, he's got to be Mark. No grown man can be that big a fan boy of another man. Unless he's a little lite footed ,if you know what I mean.

If all you did was linkp the window and play with your radio yours would sound good an clear also.
Playing with a home built unit back in the 80's I was able to talk to people half way across the country without really trying.

Why would any sane person feel the need to be heard 5 states Away? Is your self esteem so low that you can only feel good about yourself if your annoying to everyone across the country?
Sounds to me like getting some professional help my bee in order!
