Ooida does not have the funds to battle the megas . Need to hire some serious lobbiest and fight fire with fire . The turbin wearing guys have done a lot of ground work and in my opinion and are acting more American in the way they are fighting for truckers , respect to you guys for organizing . Sacrifice for the greater good is a thing of the past , we are in a me me me society . I myself am probally to tied up in my material possesions and well being to put up a fight or just walk away . For all the MAGA talk I hear we sure do settle for less and do squat when it comes down to it . Meh just rambling , Stay safe out there Drivers .

Truckers are making more money now than ever

Except for all you wheel holders that have been taking it up the nose for so long you don't know any other way to live.

Shipper says you have to wait 8 hrs to be loaded.... you take it for little to no compensation.

Reciever says the same thing, you take it again.

And then you cook the books, down a bunch of red bull and 5 hr energy, and get back to it. Don't try to say you don't, because everybody knows better.

Now that you are forced to run legal, the truth comes out, and rather than demanding to be paid, you demand to be taken advantage of again. It's like Stockholm Syndrome, you don't realize the people that have been beating you for so long are the real enemy.

The fact is, independent truckers and small outfits are making some real profit now, thanks in no small way to ELDs.

While I hate government intrusion, sometimes its necessary. I guess it is true that sometimes a large group of people is just too stupid to know what's in its best interest.

 

This will come. It's going to be the same like in Europe. You're not gonna move without the ELD noticing it.

Those two miles of free travel before it's changing the status, was just a kind of a slack. Otherwise nobody would have been willing to adopt the ELDs.

It's just a matter of time.

I once moved the truck by just releasing the parking brake and the truck rolled maybe a foot while the ignition was off. I removed the paper disc from the tachograph and the movement was recognized.

 

Yep, a lot of these company drivers making .35 to .40 a mile, thinking they're really cleaning up running 3,000 miles a week.

Talked to a friend of mine the other day. He pulls refrigerated trailers as a company guy. He acted like he hit the jackpot because they gave him a .04 a mile raise! From .39 to .43.

Said he's like one of the top mileage guys, averages around 11k miles a month. Has no home, lives on the road with his wife.

Just think about that for a minute...

Well I dont normally do social media but even my dumb butt figured out twitter. I'm afraid as in past history it will get to drastic measures before anyone notices.
