I really don't get that. They charge you $10,000 for an apu but can't put a $10 muffler on the thing.

At -30 I don't think so. His exhaust was blowing right underneath me an he was parked one mirror length away. You do realize that even on "recirculate" your heater does draw in an amount of "outside air" do you not? And in 38 years I have yet to see any truck that is "airtight".

As to what happened to the other driver I honestly don't know. I was barely concious when they put me in the ambulance. It's called Carbon Monoxide Poisoning and in the dose I took nearly always fatal.

....and yet when I worked in the construction industry if a worker died or fell ill from CO poisoning.....The company was liable......

The trucking industry needs to get with the times....CO poisoning is a real threat.....I have a smoke/CO sensor in my sleeper btw......

It's gone off couple times because of a "Weed-burner"......

that is a very good idea about the c02 sensor--we had to have those in the ac as well--i think that is something that i will be getting
a reefer--i dont think i have ever been bothered by the fumes from one--after a bit--the sound doesnt even bother me---the worst thing for me is when you have an old one and it starts up while you are driving and shakes the cab---scares the crap outta me

Reefer exhaust comes out way on top, where a APU (I think the acronym stands for "Anti-Personnel-Unit) is pretty much pointed and aimed at the truck next to it.

LoL What the hell is a "weed burner"....to me it sounds like a truck that lets off all these annoying fumes. I remember I was sleeping in my car in Lordsburg, NM or Willcox,AZ one or the two and man there was this unbearable stench that made me sick to my stomach...might that be a weed burner....?

Exhaust that runs and dumps under the truck instead of stacks.
