I don't think that grass burners should be outlawed completely, as they do provide some weight and cost savings vs regular stacks. BUT, they ought to have mandatory idle limiters on them so in a truckstop the don't fumigate the driver in the next truck. Wish I had a buck for every time a Stevens truck's exhaust has woken me up with a headache.

Au runs a huge amount of OTR and local vehicles with curtain side trailers.

i've yet to see one burnt due to the exhaust, although they do get soot marks if they arent cleaned often.

I have seen MANY T2000 and a few W9's with undercab exhaust from the factory. In fact, Millis used to order their trucks that way. Now with the UREA, most new trucks come with under-cab exhaust as well. I sat next to a JB daycab Cascadia last week that had it, and the #### thing was louder than my monster stacks, but there was no smoke and no smell???

Anyways, I wouldn't like it either. Heck, i won't even park next to a refer trailer LOL

OK, I'm not at all familiar with the new trucks as I've been out of it for a few years now. But if there is no smoke and no smell, that seems to me it would make the danger of carbon monoxide poisoning even more dangerous. At least there is a chance of smelling it with the older rigs.

yeah, i was sitting next to the guy running for 2 hrs. I asked him how he liked the truck, and that i was amazed i could not smell the fumes. He said that if he sits for a long period with the window down, he will get a headache but other than the fact it's LOUD as all get-out, you can't tell it's an under cab exhaust.

Carbon monoxide is colorless, odorless and tasteless anyway. Like Don said, I'd rather smell the other stuff mixed in with it and know to get away from it.

Good reason NOT to idle. Or should I say ANOTHER good reason. . .

Now my next question is, does the ventilation system work good enough to keep the cabin clear if the windows are not open? Since there are sometimes that you really do need to idle, such as traffic jams etc.

I know the old 1999 KW weedburner that I used to drive certainly had exhaust problems in the cab.
