Weed is one of my regular overnight stops. My go-to parking spot is the side street between Taco Bell and the Dollar store. Wake up early and head across the street and fuel up while I do my business inside. The walk from the fuel island to the truck stop is miserable in winter when it's windy and below freezing. If Weed is crowded my back up spots are either the rest stop in north Weed or Pollard Flat south of weed. Cool little diner with truck parking if you're in the area.

You can bet Pollard Flat's will be NO VACANCY early for a long time to come until they get that WTF construction zone straitened out by the coup at Dunsmuir.
90 minute back up mid day.

Pretty much everything on the I-5 has been that way since the ELD mandate kicked in. All of the truck stops and rest areas from the bay area up to Seattle are packed by 5:30 pm. That's why I start by 4 am and shut down by 5 pm every day I'm out. It's usually busier in the summer, but this year is just nuts.

No, no. This is a new construction zone. It is AFU.
And it is 90 minutes midday.
I went up Dunsmuir grade in 1st the first time I came across it last Sunday. All the way up.
Yesterday it was showing a 58 minute delay, which means maybe 2 hours, so I stopped at the TA in Redding.

I haven't been north in a few weeks so I haven't had the pleasure yet of dealing with that. Sounds like a real hoot.

Oh it blows. I went through about 0800 this morning and it was ok. It's so F/U. One side closed, then the other at the last minute, so everyone changes lanes a second time but with no warning, all climaxing in a single lane bottle neck for a few hundred yards.

Yea the first time, LOL, there were trucks EVERYWHERE LMFAO!!!
I'm assuming out of time for one reason or another.

    Starbucks in WEED.

Bad idea. The inhabitants of WEED really don't venture out much. And most haven't heard of Starbucks let alone pony up $2.50 for a good cup of coffee.

I left a few bowls of the cats high dollar cat food for the indigenous feral population between the McDonald's and the Starbucks.

Ferals appear to be doing ok.

Please feed the ferals when stopping in WEED.

You sound like my 84 year old mom. Although she can barely walk and falls frequently, she still hobbles outside onto her back porch every night at 2AM to feed a group of cats, raccoons and skunks that she has been feeding for years. They all play nice together and wait their turn.

Still dealing with weed. Would have thought you’d moved on.
