Weekend linehaul

OD in Indy is like a 318 door barn or something like that one of OD’s largest hubs in the country. It’s easy to run weekends out of bulk break that huge

 

I'm very well aware of that but even our smaller terminals can run extra on the weekends. My son is a P&D driver that is located at one of our smaller terminals in the south and he runs every weekend. He calls central and they run him.

 

A driver I knew at an old job went to OD. Says they're very stingy about bringing on extra board linehaul guys so they have a lot of weekend line runs. Only terminals that are under 10 doors don't have extra weekend work from what I remember. Hard to believe OD has such small yards but they've had a meteoric rise across the country in the past 30 years.

 

We have a few smaller terminals out west but I've never seen them. I've ran wild and I've never been anywhere that's under 30 or 40 doors.

 

XPO shares a barn in Missoula with OD that's like 10 doors. OD had a terminal up in Kalispell at some point, not sure if it is there or a drop yard or what. I think it's 3 doors. I want to say I saw some tiny barn out in Sidney that had OD trailers but it's been years since I've run to that part of Montana.

Is Wild those sleeper trucks OD runs?

 

Yes they'll send you a hook card and paperwork can be hit or miss. If you're pulling relays there's a chance the driver that dropped the trailers ran them with no bills. If they're closed loads then 99% of the time the bills will be laid out on the counter or table in the driver's room/dispatch.
