On 394 north and south in Chicago Heights Illinois has two weigh station electronic signs that say open or closed for the weigh station on rt. 30. The last 4 years both sides have always said closed during the times of 6pm - 10pm. Now both signs are not lit up at all.

Curious what the actual law is regarding this situation. Can't find anything online and tried to call a few weigh stations but nobody answers. Thanks

If it’s not lit up then it’s not open

If it dont say OPEN or TRUCK MUST EXIT then hammer down... And maybe hammer down even if it says OPEN.

Bypassing the open scale gets expensive. .$450 in Canada.

If it doesn't say it is open, keep on trucking. And if you feel like an outlaw, keep trucking even if its open....

Definitely sucks. And they have zero sense of humour about it.

    Badmon Thanks this.
