When you are approaching an OPEN weigh station and it has a sign saying "all commercial trucks must enter" and it does NOT have the "prepass follow in cab signals" sign but your bestpass gives you a prepass, are you required to still go in?

I’m sure you will get the correct answer in a minute but always follow the “green” and play dumb.

If your prepass goes go green then keep rolling…disregard the electronic message sign as your prepass signal comes from the scale house..

If I get the pass signal I pass. But be aware that some states require you to pull in if you are placarded even if you get the pass signal

I stopped in Nebraska once and asked the guys in the coop that very question. I didnt even finish the sentence before all 4 guys in the place said in unison "prepass". If you got a green light, just drive on no matter what the signs say. And yeah, if you got haz mat you got to go in even if you got a green.

As @kemosabi49 said If you carry HazMat, HazMat rules in some states DO NOT ALLOW you to bypass the weigh station EVEN WITH A PREPASS GREEN LIGHT.

Just google prepass hazmat exceptions. Big fine if you screwup that exception.

I believe it’s Arkansas, and maybe a handful of other states that require hazmat to pull in no matter what.

    Richard & Debbie Thanks this.
