Yeah I've had run ins on both sides with that one. I was able to talk my way out of their death grip both times.

I've seen him, but haven't had issues with him.
My first experience with Monument was very early in my driving career. I had a load of bentonite so was near max weight. It was snowing and slush all the way there from home. By the time I hit Monument SB I had a lot of hanging ice. The scale wanna be big deal pulled me in and started hassling me about 500 lbs over axle on the trailer. I asked him if he couldn't see all the hanging ice etc. He gave me the routine about how it wasn't that much ice and was reachin for his ticket book. He finally looked over at the DOT inspector dude that wasn't getting under any trucks that day and asked him what he thought.
"Can't you see all that ice hanging on his trailer????? LET THE DRIVER GO!"
The scale wanna be big deal just flips his hand at me all the while lookin like a whupped puppy.
North bound hassled me when I was hauling cars this last round. Some BIIIIG dude runnin the scale pulled me in and was giving me a hard time about my last car's over hang and not having the running lights on after dark. I managed to talk my way out of that one but it was real close.
I told him that I had just stopped when my prepass didn't go off and double checked the lights were on and then they turned themselves off in 2 minutes. I was just playing stupid to see where it got me. Made him feel like a big man that he was able to tell this stupid truck driver some thing. "Oh well these new cars the computer shuts the lights off after a couple minutes unless the car is running. These newer cars you have to keep running for the lights to stay on"
He looked at the prepass monitor and said I don't know why you even came in here, you got a green. I told him it never went off in my truck. He said oh well turn your lights on and get the heck out of my port.

Oh, and I took 70 across ohio today. They seem to have some new signs at the weigh stations. I wonder if someone fought them over the technicality? There were three "All commercial vehicles must enter" signs, and one little "All placarded vehicles must enter" sign. The all commercial vehicles must enter signs looked brand new..... -
