New federal regulations issued this week stipulate that the electronic health records-that all Americans are supposed to have by 2014 under the terms of the stimulus law that President Barack Obama signed last year-must record not only the traditional measures of height and weight, but also the Body Mass Index: a measure of obesity.
The obesity-rating regulation states that every American's electronic health record must: "Calculate body mass index. Automatically calculate and display body mass index (BMI) based on a patient's height and weight."
The law also requires that these electronic health records be available-with appropriate security measures-on a national exchange.

    This announcement today.
So this is how they are going to sneak the BMI rates into 2010?
Looks like the government is going to dictate to ALL of us what we can eat, when we can eat, how much we can eat...

And if don't meet their standards, they don't pay for your healthcare anymore. I told everyone this was coming but no one believed it.
Why keep track of data unless it will be used against us later???
Just remember the government is here to help us, they are our friends, They only want what is best for us, WHETHER WE LIKE IT OR NOT! :biggrin_25510:

Well it looks like I will be unemployed soon..
I took my DOT Phy. and guess what??
I'm fat :biggrin_2556:. Like I did'nt know this for the last 40 years.
I'm soon to be 51 and I have been big all my life.
But according to the new guide lines I cannot sleep good at night.

Me I sleep good. Have a few restless nights just like anybody else.

But because my neck size is 17" I take blood pressure meds. and my body mass is over 45% the good ol goverment says I'm unsafe as a driver.

So now I have to go see a sleep doctor and pay more money to say that I'm good or have to then take a sleep test.

    Anyone got 1500.00 extra dollars??

Yes I have it, but it's the point..
Plus the loss of revenue from the trk. and my wages..

Thanks to all the goverment idiots..

This is just another way to seperate the driver from his money and make it legal to do so!!!
At the rate we are going in 5 years the company driver will be paying rent so he can sweat or freeze to death in the fiberglass coffin!

Could be worse. You could spend the $1500 and be found non-compliant with he CPAP machine. They have mine turned up so high it's like someone shoving a blow dryer in your mouth. Now sleep better. Yeah right. My days are numbered. I have a good civil service job lead in the works though.
