I think you have no option but pay the fine and learn from this. Sealed or not it is your responsibility to safely transport the load. You need to monitor your load the entire trip and when a problem like this arises a driver should call their company for guidance. Companies have a procedure to break a seal and re-seal it. This happens all the time with mechanical issues,accidents. etc..

I hope you let the customer know the load shifted that much so they weren't surprised when they opened it up, that is how carriers lose contracts.

 

If you don’t like that mindset, you must hate when YOU are the person who is personally responsible for the thing that went wrong. As soon as you had a load shift it should have been addressed. Be thankful your load didn’t shift right out the back door going down the highway.

I’m curious how much you were over weight, $1500 is a huge over weight ticket.

You want sympathy from here......guess what ? It isn't happening. Your responsible for the load regardless of the circumstance of load before you. Learn your lesson and move on !
