Weird Loads

That's true, some people LIVE in them. When I was in L.A. visiting my kids, we saw a homeless man, ( clearly)sitting in a shopping cart, with his few measly belongings, and a big stick, and was rolling around the streets. First, I laughed, but quickly realized how sad that was. I was going to give a homeless guy a buck, just because I felt bad for him, my daughter said, dad, don't do it. They come out of the woodwork after you if you give something to 1 person. Pretty sad.

 

Oddest load for me? A single 10 foot by 4 foot by 6 inches thick rock. Hauled in a 53 foot trailer, from eastern WV to Jersey City. Load paid 200 dollars to me as a company driver. Never did figure out what the big deal was about this rock.

I once delivered just one pallet of shoes. Why did they need a 53 footer for it? I have no idea. Those shoe boxes would probably fit in a suv

 

i have once haul a truck load of chicken feets from Vancouver BC to Newark NJ the final destination was Newark chinatown

 

A load of Japanese plywood from Indiana to Idaho. Looked just like American plywood

 

I hauled a load of sex toys once... It was a pain in the ###.





I mean that figuratively; it was "high risk/high value" load so there were a lot of hoops to jump through.
