Weird sound in engine every few seconds

    Hello everyone. I noticed weird chunking sound in engine (dd15) 2014 has 865000 miles on it. First I noticed decreased oil pressure since last service done which was 3000 miles ago. But there is no engine check light on. Today I noticed this weird sound. Please help what it could be.

    No, its same. Frequency of sound changes when RPM are higher. Like at 1500 rpm i hear it every 2-3 seconds. I had head rebuilt 2 months ago. It was good till yesterday.

    If it were a gas burner engine I’d say it sounds like a backfire through the egr.
