Weirdest violation on DOT inspection

IIRC...that has come up once again....
The limit according to what ADOT has told drivers is that the flaps can be no higher that 7".....

Now I welcome any DOT officer to measure my flaps while I'm running 70 MPH....Not by eye mind you...I want them to break out the steel tape measures......

 

Best sic a lawyer on them. Last I checked, cause that happened to me once, an officer cannot just take whatever he feels like without either charging you with something relating directly to the items or holding them as evidence to be returned when they're done with them. If he just took them, that is theft.

 

when i first started driving a ready-mix truck i was give the oldest mixer in the yard. it had been used as a spare so no one cared how they treated it, it had concrete all over the back including the license plate.
i was slowly chipping the mess off the truck with my hammer and when i hit the plate all the concrete fell off in one piece taking the paint off the plate with it
i got stopped the next day because the cop thought i didnt have a rear plate
he let me go after he checked my insurance and registration

 

I got stopped once for not having a plate. An old lady had backed into me while I was behind the truck hooking up a car (of course she tried to say I ran into her ) and knocked it off the bumper. He walked up to the window, asked where my plate was, and I handed to him, holder and all. He still wrote me for it :/

 

I received a level one and all they could find and put me OOS for were 2 "Emergency Cross Tubings worn to the 2nd color"(that's how it read)...I had them replaced and kept them..First of all, they're only one color and second, they were not worn at all...I've yet to find one driver that even knew what they were...

 

Was it the plastic red or blue plastic air lines from the truck to trailer? Never heard of "cross tubes"

 

Get some metal mud flaps off a 2.5 or 5 ton military truck.. they do not move an inch.

 

We had a guy get a violation for having purple directionals. Why on earth would you want to change the color of your directionals?

 

I assume the inspector was describing the plastic brake tube for the emergency side that runs from the brake chamber on one side to the chamber on the other side.

That kind of brake tubing has a colored outside layer (red for emergency lines) and an inside layer which is usually clear or white.

If a plastic brake line is chafed or damaged to a point where the inside layer is visible, it can be placed out of service.

 

Same driver had a note stating, driver admits to not completing a pretrip inspection
