I gave them a try. They are no different than Schneider or any of the other trucking outfits. A lot of promises with little to back it up. I quit after 3 months, stayed on the road 5-6 weeks, never brought home more than $700 a wk. I was forced dispatched which was fine but my normal run was 900 miles over 3 days with a lot of sitting at customers. Good equipment but not a company I would "jump to" as they are they same as everyone else.

I thought I had done my homework when I decided to apply to Wel. Good scores and a low turnover rate. I no longer work for them. I lasted 8 months. I stayed out 30 days at a time. I was run more like a regional driver ( just in different regions) than a OTR driver.A big week for me was about 1700 miles. Staying out , working 7 days a week, that just won't fly.
There is a reason that they NEED to have at least 10 bodies every week for orientation. It's not because they have 10 new trucks every week.
I have since moved on and am with a new company. Only been here a week but it looks good .
The one positive note to my time with Wel was that they put on my Dac that I was eligible for a re-hire. ( Not that it mattered to me with 37 years in all this). But it was nice.
I would also like to add that they are nice people. In every terminal I went to, everyone was nice. But that don't pay the light bill at home.
Be Safe and motor on!Bucktrucker Thanks this. -
