Was just telling some guys last week I haven't had too much trouble (compared to some) out of the prostar I am driving. Currently in the hotel in Kankakee because the a/c system decided to dump its contents under the hood. That'll learn me to speak kindly of my truck.![]()
Well, I cursed myself...

How long do you think that'll take to get fixed?
mje Thanks this. -
Don't speak bad about it within earshot, or its heater core will disintegrate in the middle of January.
Charli Girl Thanks this. -
That's weird bc my prostar Ac was acting up too. Luckily the dealer fixed it FIVE TIMES!!! And every time put a new part on it and finally did exactly what HeavyD said and WALA that problem was fixed.
I tried to tell them but I guess that'd rather put all new parts on for free!!! -
Hopefully just a few days, but your guess is as good as mine. I'd imagine if it takes too long, I'll end up catching a ride with anothet driver or a flying home.

Oh you just wait, you'll have your turn one day.
I will say I don't mind it nearly as much as I would if I worked for some horrible company who's breakdown pay was $20/day or some nonsense. -
The sad thing about prostar A/c problems is that much of it is due to bad programming of the cabin control unit. The bad programming makes it act up, overpressure itself, shut off when it sees too much humidity when it doesn't need to, and forces it on when its -25 degrees outside, even when you have it on heat or blower (further damaging the cores). I have resorted to unplugging the compressor from fall until spring every year. At least it cannot kill the cores during winter months.
