So sorry this happened to you. There is no excuse for treating someone like a dirtbag, unless they give you reason to.

I don't think you are being a baby at all! What happened to you should not happen. PERIOD.

I can understand the background check. Shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't have a problem with them putting a drug dog in the truck. But to trash your truck and your possessions, is totally uncalled for. Unfortunately, I've seen it enough that I'm not surprised at it.
I've been involved in searches, both vehicle and buildings, where we already had the owner in custody, and there was no doubt in anyone's mind that the person was a certified Adam Henry. OK fine. Do your search, but there is no call to just trash the place. Of course there are exceptions to this. If you have to go into walls, ceilings and/or floors, you really don't have any option. But you'd dam sure better not be looking for a stolen Cadillac "hidden in the wall."

All kidding aside I know how you feel as a over zealous (female)us customs officer set off the alarm in Bangor Maine and I got pulled out of the truck at gun point.

It amazing how some customs officers treat people and get away with it.
