xls, you are correct! Driving a 13 speed when MT is just like driving a 9 speed. Even when your loaded, you can still get away with only having to split a few gears. I can't remember the last time I used all 13 speeds. I usually start off in 2nd, go to fourth, go to 5th(high range) and shift to 6th/split the gear, go to 7th, and then 8th and finally split it. No need unless you are extreamly heavy to go through all the gears.

I'm going home.
Now this isn't going to be a post where I b#tch and moan about the company because things didn't work out how I wanted.
In fact I think Con-Way Truckload is a great company and I still hope to drive for them someday.
However it seems I'm not up to their standards at this time so they cut me loose. Not a problem, I understand completely.
Now I'm a little bummed, but it will be ok. I'll go home and re-group and end up somewhere else to get some experience in. Who knows, maybe 6 months to a year and I could be back here.
To show how good a company they are they are letting me keep my room another night and are getting me a ticket back home. That's top notch in my book as some of these companies would just leave you stranded and then you're screwed.
