lol i can feel you on that rockandsand haha i did mine with 14 hours and couldn't believe i was actually in the #### plane by myself when i lined up on final....although i had enough sim time in and had a natural feel for the aircraft it was a piece of cake even with a crosswind......and i have a good feel for the truck too.....i guess with these kinds of things you either have it or you don't and certain things just can't be taught.....doesn't make sense that i got a commercial pilot's license in less hours than i'm going to have to go to school to get the cdl does it? still, it HAS to be looked at as nothing more than a license to learn....so many miss that fundamental point....i guess we should be glad this guy he's talking about didn't want to be a pilot haha

SNI, I doubt he will pass the final evaluation since there are written tests involved.

Great story! Well-written too. Thanks. Two's a crowd in a truck, but three?? Not me, not ever. Safe trip to you.

One thing about the trucking industry is there is no shortage of interesting people. My wife and I used to love it when we could hang out at one of our terminals for a night and get to talk to the other drivers and also new recruits. It was always so interesting. I like it better than satellite tv!

That's true, chompi. I met some great and crazy-in-a-good-way folks out there. Met a few azzhats too, of course, and never expected not to. But the good people outnumbered the jerks 50 to 1.

I enjoy sitting in a truck eating a meal and people watching because of people like this. You can tell when one walks in and just looks oblivious to everything.

Kinda like the guy yesterday that told me I was an idiot for getting out of the Marine Corp and going into driving. My simple response was I do this job because I enjoy it. I could go to school for free, or go be home every night and go back to my union electrician job but I choose to drive a truck because its fun. Some people call me an idiot or a moron, I say how many people can say that they enjoy there jobs as much as I enjoy flatbedding....

As for you steve good luck. As for the other guy I pray he does not make it through training. I am from Naperville and I have a lot of family there still and am in the process of moving back to that area and all I can say is I dont want an idiot like that on the same roads literally as my family is. You SNI is always right off of weber rd and that is right where I am from. 5 minutes from there.
