Well I can say the Corp is the same way now. I had plenty of what I would just call flat out idiots that dont deserve to wear the uniform in my battalion while I was in. They are getting much easier letting people in......

This site is a great resource but the real world shows me differently. Don't get me wrong, I've seen most of the things this site attributes to 'new breed'. I just don't believe it's only us new drivers and I know it's not as prevalent as a little reading on THIS SITE would suggest.

One thing I get a kick out of is how the same people who get all upset when the media generalizes and unfairly portrays truckers often do the same thing when they post about the new breed.

I got my license through one of those mills and I've only been doing this for a few years. That makes me one of the new breed and I take a lot of pride in what I do. I don't park in the fuel island, in a non parking spot or without the truck and trailer in line. I don't cut people off or follow too close. I don't stop on ramps or anywhere else I will stand out. I'm clean, polite, courteous and try to help when I can. When I use the toilet I flush. What I don't do is try to make some claim that even though I'm new I'm 'old school' at heart or some other thing to try and distance myself from everyone else who is still pretty new at this.

Sorry for the off topic rant.

Semper Fi, The corp had it's fair share of idiots in 72 as did trucking when I started in 84. We just have a bigger population now.
