I myself haven't driven big truck, but for what seems to be my entire life my father has and i go out on the road with him for a month to two months every year. I have experience with driving truck though with the company i currently work for.

I know that, but it's between swift and CRE. I haven't heard or seen anything good come from swift.

It it was me I'd go with Swift. At least you won't have to walk through a metal detector to see your dispatcher. Best of luck in whatever you decide.

When you're a newbie like I am purchasing outright just isn't an option that's how they are able to get people to lease. Insurance companies don't even really want to insure your truck unless you have 3 years experience already.

LOL, yep Salt Lake does seem to need security to the max. Wonder what they are really trying to say.

Besides Swift and CRE. What company would you suggest going with?

Schneider I heard is good, not sure if they are hiring newbs though. Pick up a trucking magazine at a truck stop and see the ads that take new drivers.

Got into Burns Harbor last night. I got a qualcomm yesterday saying to get to a yard asap for upgrade. This is five weeks into phase two. Also got to run a few solo loads when my trainer took hometime, so that helped my paycheck considerably. I've talked to several others I went to school with and some of them have also been called in for early upgrade.

The word is that England has too many trucks right now, but I have no idea how true that is in terms of being the reason for early upgrades.

A friend of mine from the SLC school had quit 5 or 6 days into phase one (issues with his trainer.) He just finished orientation with Werner and now has 300 hours to drive during training before oing solo. He seems happy with his decision to go there so far.

    Rattlebunny Thanks this.
