Werner is a starter company. With such a high turn over, your not going to deal with highly trained individuals. Not the recruiters fault she wasn't properly trained before being put in that position. She did what any sensible person should do, call and get the information straight for her own knowledge. However, if she was rude then that was wrong. If she was placed in a defensive position by another person because of the follow up, that would be another side to the story.

Again Werner is a large company that has a high turn over rate like most starter companies. Don't expect quality if quantity is your goal. Still, we all gotta start somewhere. There are some good people, but there are some eggheads. I had the eggheads.

you gotta jump through alot of hoops to get on at these big companys, and for what? low pay, living in a truck, and being away from home. Drivers bringing home any less then a thousand per week ain't doing very well in my opinion.

    Update:

Werner called this morning and the recruiter has been educated in the confusing world of discharges. She said I would be good to go with Werner and is sending a prehire letter.

@Spacemaker- It is a big company. She was unintentionally rude, rather than being open to something different than her current knowledge, she said that Werner required the DD214, and I would have to produce one- in a no nonsense tone, which I took as rude. After my supervisor from the Reserves said he spoke with her, he called me. He said that she stated that she was suspicious of my service record. At which point I was dissuaded.

What they have going for them, is definitely not the pay, but the truckstop at Cameo, CO usually has 25-50% of its parking lot looks rather blue most days.

However, I now have three pre-hire letters and the best offer seems to be from Prime.

Crete seems to have the best deal, but won't hire because of my location.

    Be a Blessing

If Prime has a better offer,go with them.My son is testing out from Werner this week and although the pay sucks,he's having a blast.Every time he calls he's happy, but I suppose a lot of that has to do with him landing a trainer w/ 6 years of training under his belt, and they get along well personality wise.Just remember wherever you land,if the trainer is a pos ,request a new one, don't judge a company by one bad apple.
